The «Spartak» stadium will host matches of the World Cup 2018

Host cities and stadiums for the 2018 World Cup were announced at a solemn ceremony held in Moscow. FIFA included the «Spartak» Stadium, being constructed in Tushino, into the list of arenas to host the World Cup matches. It is «Spartak», as well as «Luzhniki», who will represent Moscow during the 2018 World Cup.

At a press conference, held after the host cities announcement ceremony, FIFA President Joseph Blatter and Sport Minister Vitaly Mutko noted, that the choice of FIFA’s Executive Committee was based on the «red-and –white» ’s stadium high level of completion if compared to the other Moscow challengers.

2018 World Cup matches will also be held in the following Russian cities: St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan, Samara, Saransk, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Sochi and Yekaterinburg.
